Soccer star Martha Mora was named Cuesta College's 2019-20 Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.

Two-time All-Western State Conference First Team Forward Martha Mora (Cambria: Coast Union HS) holds claim to the title of "Greatest Scorer in Cuesta Women's Soccer History". In her freshman season, the Cougars enjoyed their first winning season in eight years and she capped her career this Fall by leading Cuesta to the CCCAA Regional Playoffs for the first time since 2005. Mora helped turn around the program as much with her willingness to do the little things and leading by example as her dynamic presence on the pitch.

This year, after setting a new Cuesta goal (21) and points (51) records as a freshman, she led the Cougars with 18 goals and added five assists for a team-high 41 points, In her two seasons, Mora established new scoring marks for Cuesta Women's Soccer that could stand for generations. She has compiled 92 career points, on a record 39 goals, plus 14 assists, while helping turn around the program. Coach Bob Wilson says, "Martha Mora is Women's soccer's athlete of the year. Martha was the team's season leading scorer with 18 goals and 5 assists. This helped the Cougars secure 2nd place in conference.

Not only did Martha smash all the scoring records for career and season in her two years at Cuesta, she would always be one of the first to help with gear at the end of practice. She always demonstrated "kindfull" leadership with all her efforts. I have rarely seen a player with Martha's talents that consistently demonstrated such humbleness and kindness to the players around her. One of the best players Cuesta has ever fielded."
