Emergency crews transported a five-year-old child to Marian Medical Center for a non-life threatening injury after being hit by a car in Santa Maria.
Police said they got reports that a child had been hit around 7:30 p.m. on the 800 block of W. Harding Avenue Monday night. When they arrived, they found the child lying in the roadway and the involved vehicle still on scene.
The child was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. The driver was found not to be at-fault for the crash and was released on scene.
