Temperatures earlier this week exceeded 100 degrees inland but fortunately not for an extended period of time however next week not only are we expecting hot weather but very hot weather and for most of the week across interior areas. Already excessive heat watches and warnings are in place with discussion of potentially dangerous fire weather conditions and Sundowner winds as well.
The heat will slowly build over the weekend but Monday is the day it looks to exceed 100 in parts of the area with 100-110 Tuesday through Thursday for the SLO interior with temperatures in the interior of SB county about 100-105 over the same period. Santa Barbara Southcoast temperatures over this time frame look to be 90-97 degrees. SLO should see temps 85-95 degrees with Santa Maria 80-85. There will be some thin marine layer so beaches will stay in the 70s.
That sort of skips over the weekend weather which is not that bad actually with night and morning clouds and afternoon clearing and temperatures near seasonal averages.
