The heat wave has begun but is expected to really kick into gear on Monday and Tuesday with plenty of triple-digit temperatures across the region.

An excessive heat warning will be in effect Monday morning through Thursday afternoon in the Santa Barbara County Mountains and South Coast. A heat advisory will be in effect Tuesday through Thursday in San Luis Obispo County and northern parts of Santa Barbara County including Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Vandenberg.

Gusty northwest winds, low humidity, and hot temperatures bring elevated fire concerns to Santa Barbara County.

Sundowner winds are expected Monday Tuesday nights which are expected to be hotter, drier and stronger.
