The heat wave is on

High pressure at the surface and a ridge aloft will dramatically squish the marine layer.  Inland areas will see no access to that cooling this week and as a result the daytime highs will range from 100-110 with Wednesday and Thursday being the warmest days.In the coastal valleys the highs also warm but strong NW afternoon winds should keep coastal valleys in the 80s and 90s for the most part with beaches in the 70s this week.Cooler conditions develop by the weekend with highs returning to seasonal averages.
