A heat advisory for the inland valleys and foothills in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties will remain in place through 9 p.m. Thursday. Daytime highs for the interior valleys will generally range from the upper 90s to 105 degrees, but even Paso Robles has the potential to reach 107 degrees Thursday. The good news is there is some relief in sight. A ridge of high pressure will start to weaken Friday as low pressure moves over Northern California, which will result in cooler daytime highs through the weekend.

Foggy conditions will stretch from the beaches to the coastal valleys Thursday morning, which will result in a cooler morning. By the afternoon, most of the fog will clear out of the coastal valleys and daytime highs will be from the mid-70s to the mid-80s. At the coast, the marine layer could decide to linger through the afternoon and daytime highs will be from the low 60s to low 70s.

Ten to 20 mile per hour northwesterly winds are in the forecast for Thursday with calm conditions throughout the morning before a breeze picks up in the afternoon.
