Inland valley communities will experience another hot day with temperatures in the 90s. However, relief is in sight for the weekend ahead as the interior valleys will mostly be around the mid-80s.
The coastal valleys will also experience cooler daytime highs over the weekend, staying fairly close to the mid-70s through the end of the Sunday. As for the coastal regions, daytime highs will range from the low 60s to the upper 60s.
A major factor in the forecast will be the sundowner winds in Santa Barbara County. A wind advisory will go into effect at 4 p.m. Friday for the south coast region and mountains and foothills. Friday afternoon through Friday night, sustaining north to northwesterly winds will range from 15-30 miles per hour with wind gusts up to 45 mph. It's likely that these wind gusts could reach 50 mph Saturday night when these winds become more widespread.
