It's back-to-school for students in the Santa Maria Valley. The school year officially kicks off for Santa Maria Bonita School District and Santa Maria Joint Union High School District Monday. Students and parents can expect some patchy fog through drop-off, but the sunshine will start to peak through around the same time. By the afternoon, northwesterly winds will increase and range from 10-25 miles per hour with breezy conditions in the coastal valley region.

Daytime highs for the coastal valleys will be around the mid-70s and low 80s. At the coast, expect some cooler temperatures from the low 60s to low 70s with patchy marine layer through late morning. The interior valleys will, once again, have the warmer temperatures this week. On Monday, temperatures will generally range from the upper 80s to mid-90s. By Wednesday, expect daytime highs to reach triple-digits as high pressure strengthens over the state through the end of the week.
