Freeze warning in SLO county

Good Morning Central Coast!

It is cold out there this morning, many interior valley temperatures are in the upper 20s and low 30s. Elsewhere the lows are in the 40s. Either way grab that extra layer on the way out the door!

Due to the cold the interior valleys in San Luis Obispo county is under a freeze warning until 9AM Friday morning. Take caution with frost and exposure concerns into the mid morning hours.

A freeze warning means that lows will likely drop to freezing or sub-freezing for long enough (hours) to do potential damage to plants and can even kill some types of plants.

Other than that high temps should recover into the 60s, even mid-60s for many for high temps Friday. Saturday looks similar. Sunday high temps might take a step back with a dry low/cold front whipping thru the region.

To weekend will be slightly cooler than today with highs loosing a couple of degrees into Saturday thanks to a cold front that is passing up to our north.

Next week temps stay essentially level. But unfortunately no signs of significant rain in the forecast.

The weekly update on the U.S. Drought Monitor showed some very minor improvement in California but 100% of the state remains in drought.

The local reservoirs did see a few places get a bump from recent rains however the majority of lakes still declined a little.

Have a great day and wonderful weekend Central Coast!
