UPDATE (8:11 p.m.) - Crews have fully contained the fire, according to the Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.
Firefighters will remain on scene for several hours to extinguish the vegetation fire and mop up.

ORIGINAL STORY (6:45 p.m.) - Firefighters are responding to a brush fire in Paso Robles.
According to officials, the fire is burning in the Salinas Riverbed near the 3600 block of N River Rd.
It broke out shortly before 6 p.m.

Currently, the fire is burning one acre at a slow rate of spread, according to CAL FIRE SLO.
Traffic is stopped at River Oaks and N. River Rd, according to the Paso Robles Police Department.
The cause is under investigation.
