According to CAL FIRE, crews responded near Front Street and San Rafael Street in Avila Beach after someone called 911 to report that a swimmer had not returned on Saturday. The swimmer had become fatigued and took refuge on nearby rocks.
Officials say boat 64 and rescue swimmers safely removed the swimmer from the rocks and transferred him to Port San Luis Boat 2, taking him to safety.
The swimmer declined medical treatment.
