Medic fire engines, dozers, ambulances were on display across San Luis Obispo County for CAL FIRE SLO's annual Fire Safety Fair.

In Los Osos, people could meet firefighters from CAL FIRE SLO Station 15- South Bay at the Rite Aid and Grocery Outlet parking lot.

This year, firefighters held a silent auction to raise money for a young Los Osos girl who suffered third-degree burns after stepping on an illegal fire pit at Montana De Oro State Park in July.

Community members who stopped by the fair could also make friends with Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey Bear. They also had the opportunity to help firefighters with a teddy-bear cliff rescue.

Fire crews offered demoed vehicle stabilization, a lifting airbag device, the "Jaws of Life", extinguisher flash plan and hands-only CPR.

CAL FIRE SLO staff members were also set up at the Home Depot in Atascadero and the SLO County Regional Airport.
