Hanukkah celebration in downtown San Luis Obispo

Posted at 10:00 AM, Dec 02, 2018

The JCC Federation of San Luis Obispo is hosting its annual Hanukkah Downtown celebration Sunday in Mission Plaza.

The event kicks off the first day of Hanukkah.

Organizers say this year’s celebration comes at a time where communities across the world feel a strong need to come together. People who go to the event can write on a message board and send messages to the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.

The night begins at 5 p.m. With a candle lighting ceremony, games, crafts and a carousel. The candle lighting will happen throughout the eight days of Hanukkah.

All nights begin at 5 p.m. except Saturday, Dec. 8, the event will start at 5:30 p.m. that day.
