The winners of the 5th annual Your Favorite Charity contest were announced Wednesday at the KSBY offices in San Luis Obispo.
The Family Care Network received the $10,000 grand prize.
Four additional charities received $1,000 prizes: Applause Children’s Theater, Royal Family Kids Camp of Santa Barbara, Pacific Wildlife Care, and Jack’s Helping Hand.
KSBY partnered with Halpin Leadership Industries, The Manse on Marsh, and Idler’s Home for the contest.
The public nominated local charities, then a panel of judges narrowed down the nominees to 21 organizations. The public was then asked to vote again for their favorites.
This year, the contest received more nominations than ever – 76.
