ECHO’s second annual North County Turkey Trot was a success.
The El Camino Homeless Organization’s fundraiser for its Atascadero shelter went virtual this year to due COVID-19 safety concerns.
People had the opportunity to register to walk or run a 5K of their choice between Nov. 15 and 29.
ECHO says it raised $48,500, which was matched by the B-Loved Foundation, bringing the total to $96,900, far exceeding it’s initial $40,000 goal.
In previous years, the turkey trot would normally start and end at Atascadero Lake Park on Thanksgiving Day.
