According to a recent press release, The French Hospital Medical Center Foundation has received yet another generous donation from the PUMA Aquatic Team to support the hospital’s Hearst Cancer Resource Center.
The swim club raised an impressive $12,000 during their ninth annual swim meet at Cuesta College in October. Hundreds of swimmers from the Central Coast, Central Valley, and Southern California participated in the event. The meet raised money through local sponsorships, entry fees, a silent auction, and the concession stand. This recent donation brings PUMA's eight year total contribution to the Hearst Cancer Resource Center to $120,000.
The center provides free supportive and educational services necessary for cancer patients to understand their disease, tolerate treatment, and maintain dignity and quality of life throughout all aspects of their cancer experience, collaborating with community and physician partners to bring San Luis Obispo County a comprehensive epicenter of knowledge and empowerment.
