Grover Beach Police Department reports decline in illegal firework use on July 4

Following July 4 celebrations along the Central Coast, the Grover Beach Police Department reported there were no major incidents related to illegal fireworks.

However, according to a post from the department, officers issued 10 citations for illegal fireworks throughout the night and responded to several calls.

Officers reported a general decline in the use of illegal fireworks compared to prior years.

Last year, the department issued 12 citations for illegal fireworks.
