Families came out to celebrate the lives of passed love ones at the Dia de Los Muertos Festival Sunday.
The event was held at the Veterans Memorial Community Park in Santa Maria.
The festival had live entertainment, altar displays, activities for youth, food stands and crafts vendors.
Organizers encouraged people to participate by creating a colorful altar to honor a passed loved one, family member or friend for the Dia de Los Muertos tradition.
Dia de Los Muertos is being celebrated in the U.S. this year beginning on Thursday, October 31, through Saturday, November 2.
