San Luis Obispo celebrated Lunar New Year Thursday at the Mission Plaza with a family-friendly event featuring live performances and local food.
The free celebration included performances by the Cal Poly Lion Dance Team and an interactive performance by violinist Reso Crelli.
Local food vendors also offered treats throughout the evening.
The Lunar New Year celebrates the beginning of the Year of the Horse, which symbolizes energy, optimism and movement forward.
