The San Miguel Advisory Council approved a proposed cannabis cultivation site with a four to one vote Wednesday night.

It's a 3.7 acre outdoor and indoor cannabis cultivation site one mile east of San Miguel.

Natural Healing Center, a medicinal marijuana shop in Grover Beach, already owns the property. Now they're hoping to move forward with this project.

“It’s going to generate significant economic opportunity. There is a four percent cultivation tax on all the cultivation, plus taxes on the mobile dispensary. So we believe it will bring in significant revenue, that we will hope make its way back to San Miguel to benefit the community with different infrastructure needs and community needs,” said Nick Andre, chief operating office with natural healing center.

The proposal will go before the planning commission Thursday. If it passes, Natural Healing Center can start construction.
