The West Coast's Tall Ship, Lady Washington will not be making its annual visit to Morro Bay this year.

The ship's captain says several factors make it necessary for Lady Washington to stay in Washington waters.

He says they need to focus on both its local mission and the condition of the ship and crew.

The executive director added, their relationship with the Morro Bay community is important to them.

The Tall Ship is an active educational boat that visits more than 30 West Coast communities each year.
