Kimberly Cruz is a multimedia journalist. She joined the KSBY News team in October 2021.
As a first-generation Latina, it was a great milestone for Kimberly to graduate with Magna Cum Laude honors from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a certificate in Spanish for Hispanic media. Through these accomplishments, she strives to serve as a role model to future generations of journalism students.
While at Cal State Fullerton, Kimberly served as the president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and interned for Titan TV as an anchor, producer, and writer. She was also a part of the school’s Emmy-award-winning Spanish newscast, Al Día, where she was awarded first place for best video entertainment and third place for best multimedia feature story from the College Media Association.
In her free time, Kimberly enjoys hiking, trying new coffee places, and skydiving! But only when she is feeling adventurous.
Kimberly is excited to be on the Central Coast and ready to tell your stories. Reach out to her with any story ideas via email at kimberly.cruz@ksby.com. Or get to know her by following her on her social media links at the top of this page.
