RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — A 16-year-old California boy was arrested for attempting to rob a bank branch, police said.
The boy from Yucaipa was arrested after attempting to rob a bank in Calimesa April 13, The Press-Enterprise reported Saturday.
The teen was booked into a juvenile detention facility on suspicion of attempted bank robbery. His name was not released because of his age.
Bank employees reported a male suspect wearing a black beanie, blue face mask and latex gloves gave a note to a teller demanding money and saying the robber had a weapon around 4 p.m.
The suspect fled on a bicycle before receiving any money, authorities said.
An investigation led deputies to a home in Yucaipa, 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of San Bernardino, where the teen was arrested as he drove away from the home in a car.
