Central Coast Living: It’s a ‘Holiday Extravaganza’ at the Great American Melodrama

Central Coast Living is full of holiday tradition this time of year. Many families go to the Great American Melodrama in Oceano for the Holiday Extravaganza.

Our cameras were there as the actors rehearsed one final time before the show premieres Thursday, Nov. 16. They will perform "A Christmas Carol" as well as a comedy about holiday food.

We caught up with an actor who is in his third year performing there. He says the Holiday Extravaganza is an intimate show where the actors are also the ushers.

"I’ve been very fortunate to be working here for a few years now and I just love being able to interact with the audience. Most places you don’t get to see the audience until after the show but here from the door, in, the show has begun," said actor Toby Tropper.

The Holiday Extravaganza starts Thursday at 7 p.m. and runs through New Year’s Eve.

The show sells out every year but KSBY is told there are tickets available for the first weekend at www.americanmelodrama.com.
