A bunch of kids will benefit from a nice dinner Monday night in memory of a local teen.

Flour House in San Luis Obispo held the 12th Annual Rita Marie Goehner Memorial fundraiser for Rita’s Rainbows.

The restaurant donated 25 percent of all sales on the night and accepted cash donations for the local education non-profit.

Rita’s Rainbows is named for Rita Goehner, who died in a car crash in San Luis Obispo on April 2, 2006. She was 16 years old.

"Her mom and dad started this organization to help children because Rita was very involved in Girl Scouts and youth group," said Debby Silvestre. "She loved helping children so they started this in memory of her."

Over the weekend, Silvestre says Rita’s Rainbows donated nearly 200 Easter baskets to the women’s shelter and a homeless shelter in an effort to help the children living in those shelters have a nice holiday.
