Santa Maria teens invited to Career Explorers Camp

Posted

The City of Santa Maria invited teens to participate in the Career Explorers Camp Wednesday.

It’s the first time the city’s Parks and Recreation Department is holding the free event, which is for teens in seventh through 12th grade. The goal of it is to teach kids job basics, like how to fill out an application or resume. They’ll also have a mock job interview and see what the first day on the job is like.

Participant Eva Garza talked about why she was interested in the camp.

"To get a better job and know more. What I’m doing when I get a job … so this is gonna help everybody out on how to get a better job and do better with the job you’re gonna get," said the seventh-grader.

The camp continues through Friday.
