A burglar caught in the act is now behind bars in Santa Barbara County, authorities say.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says a K9 team patrolling the Calle Real Center in Goleta just after 4 a.m. Tuesday noticed a glass door at Town ‘n County Realty & Investment Company had been shattered.
When the authorities took a look inside, they say the saw a man inside the business, located on the 5600 block of Calle Real, holding a flashlight.
Other agencies, including the California highway Patrol, additional deputies and the Isla Vista Foot Patrol, were called to assist.
The sheriff’s office says Joseph Rose, 46, of Boston, Mass. was arrested after leaving the building carrying several bags of stolen items.
Rose was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on burglary charges. Bail was set at $20,000.
