The fifth annual Day of Hope fundraiser takes place this Wednesday, April 11, benefiting the Mission Hope Cancer Center in Santa Maria.
From 7 a.m. until noon, more than 650 volunteers will be selling $1 special edition newspapers on street corners throughout Santa Maria, Lompoc, Nipomo, and Santa Ynez.
The money raised will benefit patients at the cancer center, helping to pay for things like travel expenses, gas, rent, utility bills, and other necessities.
