A new principal has been chosen for Cabrillo High School in Vandenberg Village.

The Lompoc Unified School District says the hiring of Isidro Carrasco was approved by the board in a recent 5-0 vote.

Carrasco is currently serving as assistant principal for Oakmont High School in Roseville, according to the school’s website.

His hiring comes after former principal Jeff Wagonseller resigned earlier this year. He had been on paid administrative leave since September for reasons the district has not disclosed.

Sue Pettis is serving as interim principal until the end of the school year.
