A 23-year-old San Luis Obispo man was killed in an off-roading crash this week in the Pozo area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Wolfgang Wyatt Forbes was reported missing to San Luis Obispo police Monday by his father.
The California Highway Patrol says two off-duty firefighters riding motorcycles in the area of the Stair Step Summit Trail discovered Forbes’ body a day later.
Officers say it appears he crashed his Suzuki Samurai Monday while driving along a steep dirt and rock trail. CHP says Forbes was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, which landed on its roof.
Forbes’ dog survived the crash.
No other information was immediately available.
