Augmented reality came to a classroom in Arroyo Grande this week.

St. Patrick Catholic School is using technology from Google Expeditions to allow students the opportunity to take a "field trip" without leaving the classroom.

Technology teacher Glenn Loayza said, "It’s a real exciting way to offer new things for our kids, to get them engaged, to get them involved in the curriculum and we found that it is really effective here since we use technology quite a bit."

All grades had a different virtual experience with the technology on Wednesday and so far, the feedback shows it was worth the experimentation.
