Gusty winds are forecast into early Friday morning with a wind advisory in effect for both Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties until 9 p.m. However, on Santa Barbara’s south coast areas such as Montecito, Summerland, Carpinteria etc. the advisory lasts until 3 a.m. Friday. Most areas seeing westerly winds 15-30 mph with gusts 25-45 mph persisting into the evening before diminishing.

High pressure and an offshore flow will bring above normal temperatures through the weekend into Monday.

With the ridge building, these warmer temperatures will mainly cover the inland valleys. Coastal areas will still have enough of an onshore flow and likely some marine layer clouds during the morning hours to keep temperatures cooler. The coastal low clouds and fog are forecast to usher into the beach towns from Saturday into Monday.

Looking towards the long range models a cooling trend starts later in the week Tuesday through Thursday.
