6 things to do this weekend on the Central Coast

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are just some of the events taking place on the Central Coast.

Saturday

Family Care Network’s 15th Annual Miracle Miles for Kids race takes off from Morro Rock at 8 a.m. The 10k goes along the beach and ends at the Cayucos Pier. Walk-up registration is open from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. For more information, click here.

The San Luis Obispo County Earth Day Fair and Music Festival goes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Laguna Lake Park off Madonna Road in San Luis Obispo. Participants are encouraged to use sustainable means of transportation (i.e. bike, bus, carpool) to get to the fair. SLO Transit will be running special routes for this day. In Atascadero, the Charles Paddock Zoo is getting in on the action with a Party for the Planet and Children’s Day. It’s taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Click here for tickets.

Sunday
The 27th annual Rock and Gem Show takes place Saturday at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. Check out rocks, mineral, fossils and artisan craft jewelry from all around the world. There will also be activities for children. For more information, click here.

Lompoc Spring Fest takes is back again at Ryon Park, 800 West Ocean Ave. in Lompoc. The festival kicked off Friday and includes entertainment, local food, carnival rides, games and a car and motorcycle show. For more information, click here.

Santa Barbara Vintners is holding its 36th annual New Release Spring Weekend with wine, food, and fun throughout the county’s wine region. The grand event will be Saturday at River Park in Lompoc from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy new wine releases, tasty food, and live music. For more information, click here.
