The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a head-on crash Friday morning along Highway 1 between Lompoc and Gaviota as Travis John Grant, 34, of Lompoc.
The sheriff’s office says Grant was driving a vehicle that had been stolen from Goleta when the crash happened Friday morning, but authorities have not provided additional details beyond that.
Three people in the second vehicle involved in the collision, which went off the road and landed upside down, were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries.
CHP, who first reported Grant was from Carpinteria, said drugs or alcohol were believed to be factors in the crash.
