Sunday’s unusually warm temperatures caused one woman to overheat while hiking on a remote trail in the Los Padres National Forest.

According to Santa Barbara County Fire officials, a 36-year-old woman was with three other women on the Hurricane Deck Trail northeast of Cachuma Lake when she started experiencing symptoms of heat stroke at about 1:45 p.m.

Santa Barbara County Air Support sent its rescue helicopter to the trail to hoist the woman out. She was taken to Cottage Hospital for treatment.

Officials say a medic assessed the other three hikers, all of which were deemed to be okay.
