Santa Maria police arrest two in connection with stabbing

Santa Maria police on Wednesday announced the arrests of two people in connection with a stabbing Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred at about 5:20 p.m. on April 24 near the intersection of S. Broadway and McCoy Lane. The male victim was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening stab wound to the leg.

At the time, police said there were believed to be at least two suspects.

Officers have since arrested Michael Eugene Cangro, 46, and Lorianne Kanani McLaughlin, 40, both of Santa Maria. They were reportedly booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and drug-related crimes.
