4 political debates to be broadcast on KSBY

Four political debates will be broadcast on KSBY ahead of the June 5 primary election.

On Wednesday, May 2, candidates for San Luis Obispo County Sheriff – incumbent Ian Parkinson and challenger Greg Clayton – will face off in a 60-minute debate from the KSBY studio. It will air live from 6 to 7 p.m.

On Sunday, May 20, the three candidates seeking to represent the 24th Congressional District – incumbent Salud Carbajal and challengers Justin Fareed and Michael Erin Woody – will face-off live in the KSBY studio from 4 to 5 p.m. 

The sheriff and congressional debates will be commercial-free and moderated by KSBY News anchors Richard Gearhart and Carina Corral.

During both debates, candidates will reply to select questions supplied from viewers through KSBY’s social media platforms. 

KSBY will also be airing two gubernatorial debates.

The first will be Sunday, April 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. It is being produced by NBC affiliate KSEE-TV in Fresno.

The second is Tuesday, May 8. The debate from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. will be moderated by NBC’s Chuck Todd and produced by NBC Bay Area.

The four debates will also be streamed live on KSBY.com.
