San Luis Obispo City officials are putting together a five-year plan to improve the fire department.

Thursday, they’re asking people to come out and share their ideas on what the department should focus on.

Officials say the five-year strategic plan informs what the department prioritizes.

This year’s plan has added focus on public safety education and prevention programs.

A plan has been drafted and the City wants to present it to residents to get their input on it.

They also want feedback on how well the department communicates with the city.

Thursday’s meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 2160 Barbara St.
