Doc Burnsteins unveils new ice cream flavor, donates sales to Make-A-Wish

Local ice cream parlor Doc Burnsteins revealed a new ice cream flavor Sunday afternoon during a launch party fundraising for Make-A-Wish.

With the help of the 2018 Wish Kid, Maysie, the store came up with its new, summer "fund flavor": German chocolate cake.

Maysie helped unveil the new flavor at the Ice Cream Launch Party, which kicked off at their Arroyo Grande location.

Satisfy a sweet tooth for a good cause; the parlor will donate 10 percent of sales to Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, in Maysie’s (and future wish kid’s) honor.

Maysie worked with the Doc to create the flavor, which will ultimately allow them to grant three more wishes to local kids from the Central Coast. That ability comes at a value of $15,000.

To try the new flavor, visit any of the parlors in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, and a new location opening in Santa Maria in late-May. Check out the Doc Burnsteins Instagram page for more announcements.
