The Santa Barbara Airport says it will soon announce a new carrier providing service at the airport.

The "low-cost" carrier, which will be announced during a press conference Tuesday, is said to bring competitive fares to its destination city starting August 21. The city has not been named but airport officials say it is currently being serviced through the airport.

"We are excited to share this news along with our newest carrier on Tuesday," said airport director Hazel Johns in a press release. "Increasing passenger loads and diverse travel options underscore our role as a dynamic hub in the region, while benefiting local travelers with added convenience, ease and pricing."

KSBY plans to be at the press conference and have the latest information once it is officially announced.
