Cuesta College held a grand opening for its new food pantry on Wednesday.

The Cougar Food Pantry, located on the San Luis Obispo campus, opened its doors a few weeks ago and has already seen more than 400 visits.

College officials say it’s convenient for those students who are food insecure because the Cuesta College campus is also a Food Bank distribution site. There are a variety of foods including canned tuna, beans, quinoa, and other non-perishable items.

The food pantry is open to currently enrolled students on Mondays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is located in room 5305.
