A former Guadalupe junior high school science and math teacher, arrested and charged with a lewd act last year, has entered a no contest plea.

The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office says James Ungricht, 35, entered the plea to one count that he engaged in a lewd act.

Ungricht was arrested October 18 on campus after being identified as the suspect caught on camera engaging in lewd acts in the library earlier in the month, according to a Cal Poly spokesperson.

Ungricht resigned from his teaching position at Kermit McKenzie Jr. High earlier this year.

Sentencing is set for June 21.
