Special Olympics athletes from San Luis Obispo County geared up Friday for the regional games.
The opening ceremonies began just after 9 a.m. at Cuesta College.
Competition is expected to get underway at 10:30 a.m. at five venues on campus.
The athletes will be competing in everything from track & field, aquatics and even bocce.
