The Amgen Tour of California is underway, but this year, the race will bypass most of the Central Coast.
The race began Sunday in Long Beach.
The second stage of the tour will begin Monday at the Ventura Pier at 11 a.m.
The cyclists will ride 98 miles before ending at the top of Gibraltar Road in Santa Barbara County.
The Amgen Tour of California is the only men’s cycling event in the U.S. on the UCI World Tour calendar.
Cyclists will cover 645 miles over seven stages before ending in Sacramento on Saturday.
