Pismo Beach made runner-up for the "Best Coastal Small Town" according to USA Today.
The Central Coast location lost to Georgetown, S.C., out of 20 total places, by public votes online. Third place was given to Eastport, Maine.
"Situated on California’s Central Coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Pismo Beach offers long, white sand beaches, spectacular sunsets and access to numerous area wineries," USA Today wrote.
The entry also described Pismo Beach as a beach town that "feels straight out of the 1950s."
