Residents ready to light up as first legal pot dispensary opens in Grover Beach

Posted

The first legal, Central Coast marijuana dispensary opened Saturday morning in Grover Beach.

The shop, 805 Beach Breaks, held its grand-opening ceremony in a celebratory fashion.

Long lines began forming before the event started. Residents over the age of 18 were invited to the festivities, but only those 21 and older could purchase any pot products for medicinal purposes, per California law.

The owner of 805 Beach Breaks was still in awe that they finally made it to opening day and is excited to be leaders for San Luis Obispo County in the marijuana industry.

The mayor of Grover Beach, John P. Shoals, was also in attendance.

Shoals said the city is also looking forward to working with 805 Beach Breaks and the other three store fronts that have been approved for marijuana sales.
