This week the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services will be conducting live training burns at the Paso Robles Airport.

A burn permit was issued for grass fields adjacent to the taxiways and should not interfere with airport operations.

The controlled burns will take place Monday, May 21, Tuesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 24.

People in the area of the airport or traveling on Highway 46 East may see smoke from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each day of the burn.

In the unlikely event you smell smoke, take precautions to reduce any harmful health effects such as avoiding strenuous outdoor activity and remaining indoors as much as possible.

The burn is dependent on weather and air quality conditions that are favorable for smoke dispersal. If the conditions are not as desired, the burn will be postponed to a future date.
