A gas leak prompted a shopping center, including New Frontiers Marketplace, to be evacuated Wednesday afternoon.
Santa Barbara County Fire said at approximately 2:22 p.m. construction crews were working behind the grocery store on Mission Drive when a two-inch gas main was ruptured and started leaking gas into the area.
The entire complex was evacuated and three fire engines responded to the area.
Dave Zaniboni, Santa Barbara County Fire PIO, said crews are remaining on scene and PG&E is en route to close the leak and make repairs.
