After a busy Memorial Day Weekend, Port San Luis Harbor Patrol employees and community members got outside Tuesday morning for a beach clean-up.

Port San Luis Harbor Manager Andrea Lueker says around 2,000 people were at the beach on Sunday, making for a messy Monday morning clean-up.

However, she thinks beachgoers are getting better about cleaning up their trash after a day at the beach. Despite large weekend crowds, the beach was fairly clean Tuesday morning.

"I have a feeling that people get here even before our crews get here. I have a feeling that people come and just pick up on heir own, which is great, that’s definitely what we want to happen," Lueker said.

The next beach clean-up will take place the morning after the Fourth of July.
