Two men were injured from an assault and kidnapping from the Santa Ynez area on Friday night.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Mario Borruel, 40, was arrested for allegedly injuring two fellow employees in a van with a knife after 11 p.m.

The press release stated all three men had finished work for the day for a catering service. As they were traveling in the work van, Borruel became agitated and threatened the men with a knife.

The victim told deputies Borruel allegedly forced him to drive from Santa Ynez to Santa Barbara. He suffered injuries and later sought medical attention at the hospital.
